FAQ

Questions Before You Book

Straight answers on cost, timing, and what working with us looks like.

Why custom instead of off-the-shelf, WordPress, or low-code?

Performance, security, and fit. With no plugin stack to patch and no page-builder bloat, custom software loads fast and leaves attackers fewer ways in. It’s built around how your business runs, not a template your team has to work around. Need to edit content yourself? We can include a CMS so your team can update pages without calling us. If an off-the-shelf tool truly fits, we’ll say so. Moving off WordPress? We keep your URLs, so you keep your rankings.

Can we start small and grow it?

Yes, and we usually recommend it. We launch the core first, then layer in the rest once it’s proven in daily use. A multi-location business might go live at one location, then roll out to the others.

What is the Blueprint, and why is it paid?

It’s two weeks of real work: we review your tools, data, and workflows, map the architecture, and write a fixed-fee build proposal. It costs $2,500, is credited toward your build if you go ahead, and the plan is yours to keep either way.

Who owns the code, hosting, and data?

You do. We set up Vercel, Supabase, Resend, and the code repository in your business’s name and work inside them as your team. Hosting is billed to you directly at standard rates, with no markup from us. Your project agreement spells out the details.

Will it work with the tools we already use?

Usually, yes. Our builds connect to tools like Stripe, DocuSign, Tekmetric, Jobber, RingCentral, Google Maps routing, and more. The Blueprint confirms what each of your tools allows before anything is priced.

Who will we work with, and how do we communicate?

Andrew Branning leads every project with a US-based team in Beaufort, SC. Every project runs through a dedicated Slack channel, and it’s a requirement: questions, decisions, previews, and progress updates live in one place your whole team can see, backed by regular product sync meetings. New to Slack? We’ll set you up before kickoff.

What happens after launch?

We launch with your team and train them on the system. Most clients then keep us on a retainer, from $2,000 a month, for refinements, bug fixes and monitoring, and help as they scale. Bigger changes are scoped as their own build.

Is SEO included?

Yes, on every public site we build: on-page SEO (titles, meta descriptions, headings, alt text, internal links) and technical SEO (fast load times, structured data, a clean sitemap, and crawler access, including AI search tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity). Rebuilds keep your existing URLs, and ongoing SEO runs under a maintenance retainer.

Do you manage Google Ads?

Yes, for clients on a maintenance retainer. Ad budgets need to be at least $5,000 a month, and management is typically 15% of ad spend. We start by auditing your current account, keep what’s working, cut what isn’t, and share results straight in your Slack channel.
